This means that you may not want to take the cheapest route when shopping for mattresses. However, not everyone can afford the newest and best; therefore, it is good to know what the important qualities are. Here is how to find the right one for you:

Consider the Different Types
The reality is that while there are many different mattress names, there are only a few actual differences between them. Here are some of the basic types:
Innerspring
This is the most common type and is usually also the cheapest. When looking at innerspring mattresses, consider factors like coil count and coil gauge. The higher the coil count and the lower the gauge number, the firmer your mattress will be.
Memory Foam
These use a foam that molds to your body's shape so that even pressure is applied to your body at all points. The memory foam on mattresses varies in thickness from between 2 to 6 inches thick; this will determine how deep you sink into it.
Inflatable Pressure Chambers
The pressure chambers allow you to change your mattress firmness. You can make it firmer and well as tilt the bed up into a reclining position. You can opt for a bed with different pressure chambers on either side to provide different levels of firmness.
Firm or Plush
Firm and plush are used to describe comfort-level. Mattresses are often labeled as being firm or extra firm, plush or extra plush. Pillowtops may be added to the top surface of a plush mattress to make it even softer (“ultra plush”).
Never buy a mattress without testing it first. When you go shopping, wear loose clothing and shoes that you can slip off easily. Spend at least 15 minutes lying on each of the mattresses you are considering to see how they feel.
