If you’re moving your furniture yourself, utilize items like lifting straps and dollies to help make the move easier. Moving items properly can make them less likely to be dropped and damaged and help save you from potential back pain and injury. Use protective slides or items like Frisbees to place under furniture. These will allow you to slide a heavy item rather than lift it.
Moving a mattress
Mattresses can be particularly difficult to move. Their size makes them unwieldy, and they can also be floppy. Many have handles, but they’re meant only to help you position the mattress, not to carry it. As a result, they could tear if you try to use your mattress’ handles to lift it.
